DE ZALZE COUNTRY CLUB
De Zalze Golf Course:
The De Zalze Golf Course situated within the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate
was designed by Peter Matkovich who has made the most of the stunning
setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy. The course
has an excellent mix of parkland holes with its main defences coming from
the water features on several of the holes as well as the Oak tree lined
Blaauwklippen River which winds its way through the golf estate and comes
into play at various intervals.
The golf course is an exciting addition to the group of international
standard championship golf courses recently built in the Western Cape region
of South Africa.
The De Zalze Golf Course has hosted a number of championship events and will
together with the Spier resort be the host venue for the 2006 World Amateur
Team Championships (Eisenhower and Esporito Santo trophies) which will
attract teams from approximately 80 countries around the globe.

ERINVALE GOLF
CLUB
The
Erinvale Country Estate & Golf Club is privileged to be situated in the bowl
of the Lourens Valley , some 45km to the east of Cape Town , one of the most
beautiful cities in the world. It nestles at the foot of the majestic
Hottentots Holland mountain range and is surrounded by such famous Estates
as Vergelegen, Morgenster, Fleur Du Cap and Lourensford.
As a
residential golf estate, it not only offers one of the best golf courses in
South Africa , but also a secure and tranquil lifestyle.
The 18 hole golf course was designed by Gary Player, one of
South Africa's most distinguished golfers, and a great deal of care has been
taken to ensure that the natural environment is enhanced by this magnificent
course.
Gary Player has this to say about the course
"As you play
through the back nine holes, you climb dramatically up the mountain to enjoy
the spectacular view. The sea in the distance and the many wineries for
which the Cape is famous are further attractions. Once all the trees mature,
I think this will be one of the best golf courses in South Africa ."

THE LINKS AT FANCOURT
Fancourt

South Africa's new golf capital, situated in the heart of the popular Garden
Route. The resort comprises two 18-hole golf courses of the championship
class, both designed by Gary Player. Fancourt is - so far the only South
African - member of the renowned "Great Golf Resorts of the World". The
Links", especially caters for visitors. The new 18-hole course - also
designed by Gary Player - is a links course and boasts many spectacular
features.

PEZULA GOLF CLUB
Sparrebosch Clifftop Estate in Knysna is home to the spectacular Pezula Golf
Course. The only serious problem that you could face when playing at The
Pezula Championship golf course is running out of film for your camera!
Pezula, without doubt, possesses one of the best locations on the African
continent. This golf course is situated on the East head of Knysna,
overlooking the Indian Ocean, Knysna lagoon and the Outeniqua Mountain
range. It is also in the heart of the famous Garden Route.

THE GARY PLAYER GOLF
COURSE
Continually ranked the best golf course in South Africa, the Gary Player
Golf course sets the standard. It is arguably the most famous course in
South Africa and has hosted the Nedbank Million dollar golf tournament. This
18-hole golf course is both demanding and difficult, with some golfers
claiming it to be the toughest course in the Southern Hemisphere.

LOST CITY GOLF COURSE
The
Lost City Golf club is situated just over the hill from the Gary Player
Country Club and although both courses have similar characteristics, the
Lost City Golf Club has a different layout. The course was carved out of an
undulating rocky terrain and has a classical African feel. Even the
clubhouse, which blends in perfectly, has been modelled on the Zimbabwe
ruins, an ancient mystical city in the heart of Africa.
South African golfing legend and course designer, Gary Player, believes that
he has created one of the top courses in the world at the Lost City, with
its desert style front nine and out-of Africa back nine. The back nine is
your golf safari with only a fence separating the golfers from the untamed
African countryside that is the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.
